Some Causes Of InfertilityIn PeopleBy Tracy Marksman

Many people think it is very
easy to get pregnant, and
for some people it is very
easy; but for others it is
difficult, sometimes
impossible. Whether you are
a male or female there are
some causes of infertility
that needs to be addressed.
If you have not become
pregnant within a year, there
might be an underlying
problem. A good specialist
will help you find out just
what is wrong and hopefully
correct the problem.
Sadly, there are over five
million couples in the United
States that cannot
conceive; let alone around
the world it is much higher.
Many do not realize there
are a lot of different
treatments that help the
couple get pregnant. There
is only a very small
percentage of people that
will actively seek help from
an infertility specialist.
Some causes of infertility in
women as well as men can
be related to the size of
that person. Because of the
obsession of people being
thin, mainly in women, being
so thin can cause infertility
because it messes with the
production of the
gonadotropin (or gonad-
stimulating hormone; one
that is secreted by the
pituitary gland). Being on a
diet constantly and not
eating correctly causes this
hormone to be out of whack,
causing the sperm and the
female eggs to be abnormal
or maybe delayed in
fertilizing.
Some causes of infertility
might be depression. As of
today it is the number one
problem with many people in
the world, not just the United
States. If a couple does get
pregnant and ends up
having a miscarriage, the
feeling of the lost can be
devastating. Depression will
sink in and cause infertility in
both the man and woman.
The stress and pressure to
conceive again is so
overwhelming the hormones
just will not work properly.
Some causes of infertility
might end up being a medical
problem, again in both men
and woman. If the man or
woman is on any kind of
medication say for diabetes,
heart problems, etc, this
might cause infertility. There
are some medications that
will lower the estrogen
produced by the body that
can affect the ability to
conceive.
Of course the sooner some
causes of infertility are
diagnosed the sooner the
couple will conceive, so this
is way it is so important to
get to a fertility specialist as
soon as the couple realize
there might be something
wrong. Doctors will tell us
the sooner the better, as
they can catch the problem
and deal with it before it
gets out of hand.
